A pair of Rams in a Genoah tank is not advisable, even with dithers. They seem to prefer a tank with a bigger "floor space" as they will roam everywhere. In a confined space like the Genoah tank, it might not be conducive for a pair to raise their fry to maturity as there will be struggles over territory and food.
When removing fry from their parents for raising separately, this seems to be a must as the majority of tank-bred Rams make pretty lousy parents that do not really guard their eggs nor their fry. Those born to excellent parents should be kept with them for as long as possible as they will pick up the parental instincts from their parents. They will go on and be good guardians to their eggs and fry. As for eggs turning white, it is usually an issue with the male's fertility or water quality. My pair kept spawning but eventually lost their fry during wriggler stage. Now they just swim around, eat but don't do much else.
