These are some things which may help:
- Boil the wood (Not in your tank of course)
- Use Activated Carbon
- Frequent water change
I had the same problem too, did water changes and it gets better after some time.

"The success or failure of your deeds, does not add up to the sum of your life. Your spirit cannot be weighed. Judge yourself by the intentions of your actions, and by the strength with which you faced the challenges that have stood in your way. The Universe is vast and we are so small. There is really only one thing we can ever truly control whether we are good or evil." - Oma Desala (Stargate - SG1)

Haha.. I haven't boiling it yet. I will try and let u guys Know
I had before. Then one of my friends told me to boil it... and it worked... if i remember correctly, i boiled the wood about 2 times or 2 cycles.
boiling the driftwood really helps..
but since your water is already brown just have to keep changing water often until it becomes clear again.
use seachem purigen
purigen cannot remove tannis, at least not for my tanks but the water is very clear with "tea" colour.
