I'm about to set-up a gravity fed auto-topoff system on my shrimp tanks to keep the water level stable as I use hobs and when I'm unable to top-off due to travel the hobs stop functioning and I don't want to jeopardise my livestock.

Does anyone here have an auto-topoff system hooked up that you'd be willing to share pics of?

    Thanks everyone
    Regards,

You could fill a bottle of water to the brim and cap it. Turn the bottle upside down and place the bottle end just under the water surface. Uncap the bottle just under the water surface. You need to find something to hang the bottle in a stable way that when it empties after a period, it won't fall.

As the water level decrease, the water in the bottle will auto fill the tank till the water surface cover the bottle opening again, stopping the water top up action.

    Hope this helps!
If you've learnt, teach, if you have, give.

This is what I was thinking of doing, but I'm thinking about threading air tubing through the bottle cap so that I can keep the bottle out of the main view of the tank.

Thank you guys for your suggestions and help.
