    Hi,

    I am starting a blackwater tank (L25cm x W25cm x D30cm) in my office.

Intend to make it an apisto (likely a pair of apisto agassizi) tank with just blackwater and bogwood.

Other fauna will be just a couple of otos and mini cory.

Would like to get some advice on the possible plants to use to make a south american biotope.

A true South America Amazon biotope will not have plants. But most will put in nanas or ferns as they are alright with low light.

How abt choice of gravel? Sand or soil?

I have some SUDO sand, but the color is alittle too orange for my setup. Might just let it be with my current soil gravel.

Any recommendations to get apisto agassizi?

Nice piece of bogwood. Since you already using soil keep it that way, easier to manage pH though it's also nice to see apisto peck on fine sand looking for food.
Can visit Jzx or AquaOne for agassizii.

Can see that he works at RP ?

anyway great looking tank to have on your desk. a stunning pair of apisto will be very therapeutic to look at when you are feeling stress at work.

    Re: black water apisto tank

    Updates on my office tank...

Added 2 otos, a pair of Apisto Vijeta...
1 oto died and the female Vijeta showed signs of stress, which was removed and placed in a separate tank, but did not make it after a couple of days.

Now, left only the male vijeta and 1 oto, doing well.

    Here's a pic:
