The water dripping down would have a raining effect right? I read elsewhere that cories breed more easily if they think its raining. Possible?

Yep, if everything works perfectly, you don't have to change water, just top up the water caused by evaporation. The only problem is that you need to prune or even replace the land plants when they grow too big.

The compartment without holes on the left is where the real filter lies. The whole thing goes around the top of the tank and eventually flows that.
At the water outlet, can I make the outlet swirl? Like as it gives out water it turns? The pressure must be very high right?
