I would like to introduce 1 live plant to my tank. I am thinking of java moss but very scared of algea problem. As I'm a newbie and maybe a tad lazy....so wondering if it's a good idea.

Just reckon the plant is a must for fish to hide and eat vegetable.

    Any advice pls?

That is not true, algae comes from an imbalance in your water conditions.

So what is a good plant to recommend newbie me?
I see white egg looking things forming near the inlet tube of my tank top filter. Does this mean my water quality is poor too must waste?

Your tank is overstocked. What kind of filter are you running? Most likely it cannot handle to bioload.

Filter that came with my tank. Suck from bottom to top and then pass filter then down. Internal? Really over load ah? 40 fishes cannot huh? Im thinking of changing to an internal filter by sera by saw many similar at fraction of the. Cost. Any good? Will b better than what I have now?

Sounds pretty packed for a tank of that size. Worse then student dorm hehe.

Internal filter have less filter medium, why not use both.

Since they r all in tank now I will just keep them there. Lost 2 rumy nose today swim into plant and cave and got stuck. Internal filter not better meh? They have many layers, cotton, carbon&bio. My over head filter only has one cotton. I added a layer of carbon to it.

If I keep 2 tank lagi crowded man. Just wanted something more efficient.

You could use an internal filter combined with an external filter. direct the internl filter t face the input o the external filter to push debris to the other end.
