I got 2 discuses in my tank and seems they have paired off nicely. The females has laid eggs twice before but they always disappear after awhile. BUT not this time.

    Congratulations!

hey, you've got a nice tree trunk in your aquarium too.

did you pick it up from the wild or shop?

I am hoping that you will say wild, so that I can learn some tips from you on "curing" it.

Sometimes I would come across nice tree branches in the park, but never pick it up because I don't know the way to "prepare" it before putting it into the tank. It would be great if you can share some tips too, if you have picked it up from the wild that is.

    Cheers.

It's sorta wild wood. I got it from the parking lot where I work. The gardens cut down a tree and when I saw it, I know I must have it.

I soak it for several weeks in water + sodium percarbonate (clothes soaking powder). Ive read this speeds up the leeching of tannins and it does work.

    Good luck!

Hi...congrats!. Nice setup. But I see you got other fishes in the tank as well, you wanna remove them?

Best if you don't switch off your lights at night. Leave a small light on so that the parents can see the fries. Update us on the progress.
