As mentioned in the title, the question is other than canister filters, what are other kinds of filter that is recommended to keep shrimps(which can prevent any shrimplets from being suck into the filter) Or even what are the ways you, veteran shrimp keepers use to prevent that from happening.(e.g wrap the inlet with something)
Sorry if this question sounds stupid but really new at this
So please share your setups with me so i can learn more through this forum! Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the shrimping hobby Dan.

Gentle reminder, please put your questions in the title instead of using a generic "I have a question" title in the future.

For filters, you can use fine sponge filters that are powered by air pumps or Hang on Filters with a fine mesh/sponge over the intake.

i am using a OHF, i used a filter sponge(bought from lfs) to cover the inlet..so small shrimps/shrimplets will not get sucked in...

there are stainless steel cages sold in lfs for that purpose too but can be quite expensive compared to filter sponge.

If you don't mind the aesthetic issues, you can even wrap the inlet with filterwool... haha

Check out my Blog on planted tank, good for newbies ( i am lazy to retype all the info i know, so please click and read below link... i hope you don't fall asleep while reading)

Thanks for the quick replies! Because currently I am wrapping my HOF inlet with filter wool but still worrying about my shrimplets everyday cause I can't find them(But they might be hiding too). So thanks for the advice And where can i buy a really dense sponge foam that I can use for my inlet? Cause i bought a $2.50 yellow sponge foam from polyart the other day but I still the pores are a little big thus I did not use them.
