    Hi all,

It's my first serious iwagumi attempt. Previous efforts were just rojak.... So this time hope to create something nice.

It's a 3 feet tank. I intend to just grow hc, that's all.

I had been fiddling around with the layout for the past few nights. This is the latest. Hope the gurus can point me in the right direction. Intend to top up some soil. The centre part abit too shallow.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1341314459.688404.jpg

I like the placement but I feel the rock's size is too consistent for my liking( too much small rocks ), my 2 cents..
Something about the water & the fishes that calms me down.

I would say you need more big rocks , current main rocks is too small, you need something like 2/3 your tank height

Actually I got the rocks from Mizuworld. So it's a hassle with online purchases. You can't choose the rocks. If want to have another bigger rock, I guess must order again as I don't know where else to buy the supposingly same kind of rocks.

Yeah, I've seen some of the complaints posted. .

I bought these kurokinyru rocks. I think instead of spending some more on the focal rock for my tank, maybe I can find from lfs. My rocks look suspiciously like granite.

Yeah, I rescaped.... As all newbies always do. Source of inspiration was mountainscape by Peter kirwan. I wasn't very good copycat though.

I understand iwagumi and mountain scraping is entire different right? Read somewhere. I think it was shadow's comments.

Anyways, as always, I value all your feedback and ways to improve.

By the way, is it must line the footpath or whatever you call it with white sand to create the effect?

    Cheers dudes and dudettes!

It reminds me of a scene of some game.
    Was it Starcraft ?

In short and sweet tone. Nice I like

Rescape often will have skill, start tanks often you will learn how to avoid common problem.

I got the kurokinyru rocks from Mizuworld. I think I spend around $70-80.

Just to share. My scape right now. My hc is pathetic, I need to buy more. Anyone knows where to buy those hc with just roots and not attached to sponge or mesh?

How come so little left? If not it will take ages to grow hehe.
Did you yank them from the filter wool directly?

If so its pretty difficult, why not remove thin layer of wool bit by bit from the bottom instead before yanking them out?

    Re: Iwagumi 3 feet

I don't why left so little. I bought 2 packets somemore from C328. big patches of HC with just roots. hahaha.
I wash them, 10% disappear. I put in quarantine tank for a few days to remove pests. another 20 % disappear.
I plant them dry. and after filling with water, some floated up.
I replanted them and more roots floated. 20%
After 1 week. 20% melted and I remove them. So I guess i'm left with 30% of my initial investment. wahahaha
    Back breaking task.

Been going to C328 but no stocks for HC for the past week. I bypass those with sponge as it is darn difficult to remove the sponge.

Why you quarantine few days lol.
Wash is ok, I lose 30/40% when I wash from mini farm.

Where you live? I will be restarting my emerse farm soon & decomming my 3 footer. You can have half of my farm anytime & main tank once I decom (pm me if you want the submersed ones.)

Just a real experience I had.
I sun tanned my 1st wool hc I had outside the house during work. 95% melted when I came back to work.
They were in a clear sealed container. Who said overly humid can't hurt lol
