Ada soil is sold in 3L and 9L packs, i used a 9L pack for my 2 feet for economy reason:- bigger packs are cheaper.
Prices are quite standard,+-3 dollars across lfs. It very much down to convinience more than cost to me. Where do you stay?

I stay around Serangoon. Not sure if Green Chapter stocks them. Looking at getting a GEX Glassterior so would be great if I can get them both at the same place.
Serangoon can get from pet mart
For reasonable price you can get it at pasir ris farm way 2 L35 if you happen to stay nearby![]()
I see on the Green Machine website that they top up their substrate with a fine version of the aqua soil. Is this step necessary or should I just use the substrate at their normal size?
It's optional. It does make it easier to plant some foreground plants.
