I am using API which measures in increments of 10ppm.
Yup slowly use distilled water to bring down your GH to about 4-5 over a period of time.

hi guys, can i check with you which brand of Nitrate test kit is good and measure in terms of narrow ranges of PPM?, my current sera brand range is high as in from zero ppm, then 15 ppm, 30ppm base on the colour, so am not sure if it is accurate, recently my shrimps start to rest in peace again, feeling really down, parameters are ok except for the GH which is 8 and i guess i need to lower it.
any advice for the nitrate tester is welcome.
thanks!

Thanks Bro, noted, i will try that test kit instead, anyway distilled water GH = 0?

The more accurate test kit for NO3 (nitrate) is made by Salifert, costly but much more accurate than the usual Sera, API etc. Marine hobbyist (I was once into Marine with SPS Corals) use it to test NO3 as most matured marine tank with SPS requires undetectable level of NO3. Should be able to get it from C328 or some larger LFS.
