    hello

Recently my bulbs have both gone in my lighting unit in my 5ft tropical tank. At the moment i have a 30" lighting unit on it. With the replacement lighting which is a lot dimmer i have notice that some of the more shy fish are more active. Is there and disadvantages of having a low light tropical tank ?

    Re: Aquarium lighting

Fishes prefer shade in their natural environment. I'm using a 45cm double tubes for my 60cm tank. So 2/3 of the tank are filled with flourishing plants, 1/3 roaming area. In another 3feet tank, a 45cm light set was placed along the breadth of the tank, the fishes are always gathering in the dimmer side of the tank.
