wow, very nice![]()
Thanks bro.
I don't have any filtration system in it as the water level is only about 2 inches.
I will go step by step:
1) the base was charcoal chips, a mix of the charcoal for bbq and activated carbon then covered with a net
2) next layer - plantgro gravel only 3L mixed with a bottle of JBL Florapol
3) followed by 2 packs of Horti Moss mixed with pumice (a small bag bought from Singapore Garden Festival)
4) rocks which i bought from MizuWorld.com
5) corkbark bought from my supplier Candy Floriculture, very cheap, 2 pcs i paid about $15. (took only 1 pc, shared with a friend)
6) then it would be planting time, with ferns (grown in small containers of index finger) which i bought from Candy Floriculture (Thomson Rd).
moss i got was terrestial moss which i bought from terrascapes at Garden Festival. Plants like HC, Riccia, UG, other plants which can be grown emersed i got from Mizuworld.com
7) I just used nails to pin the ferns onto the corkbark
Lastly i filled it with water until my HC and UG and cover with clear acrylic sheet (bought from Artfriend). I chose UG as one plant cos it has nice flowers if grown emersed. Hopefully mine will do well and flower one day.
9) Lights i used BEAMSWORK LED 400 2 ft and within a day I saw one of the ferns has 2 new spikes growing until the tank cover.
The new leaf stalks growing just in a day, they were touching the tank cover and had to shift them lower.
CANTIK, nice terrarium tank... good mixture of colours....

awesome work there! You should have entered the competition at SGF.
I was there yesterday too with my client, manning booth 10&11. Had an excellent day at the festival.
Thank you. You've flattered me. But my tank has not been established and stabilized yet. Yep I went there and it's always good as I am a free-lance florist and I like landscaping. What booth is that? Seeing those orchids and plants on sale really drive me crazy hahaha.
My booth was a Community in Bloom Show and Tell booth. I built a 4feet by 3feet by 3 feet paludarium for Beacon Primary, the school featured it this year for CIB2012 and the school won a gold for excellent student and community involvement in the maintenance and upkeep of the paludarium.
Kudos!!...beautiful setup bro. Nice selection of plants and tastefully done. What's the reddish plant on the right?
Wow! This is a very nice setup! Must be very pleasing and relaxing to the eyes!![]()
Wow, very nice and inspiring set up! Really make me want to learn how to set up one myself! Hope you can update the progress of the plant growth here.![]()
