The smaller the tank.. the harder to mantain.. esp when u just started with this hobby... 5 months ago... i am using lumiq and now 4ft planted with tetras... dont really need to do anything about it other than feeding them evevery other day...
I wish to have a nano planted tank to put in my room but i'm very new to this whole thing.
I've been looking at some tanks, just wondering what is good? and what is the basic set up i need for a nano planted tank?
I read that doing a customised tank is cheaper but i dont know what to get or to know which is good?

I agree with jervinphua about having a bigger tank, but I presume you have limited space for a big tank in your room.
In my opinion, i think a DIY tank will not only be cheaper but more versatile as you can choose filters and lights that suits your needs and preference.
Basic setup depends on what you intend to do with your tank. But generally, you will need a filter and lights.
Tank wise, there are the readily available glass and plastic tanks in most LFS. If you want a higher quality glass tank, you can look at ANS opti white tanks. I just seen a few at Seaview last weekend.
Happy scaping!
Hi,
DIY is make yourself
Customized tank is you choose the dimension and ask a tank maker to do it for you.
IMHO, Getting a custom sized tank may not be much cheaper. Where buying a nano sized tank from lfs.
Accessories still can choose for both.
If your getting customized size with a cabinet then you might not save much.
