Nice setup may is know is there any particular reason why you have put Cholla wood in all your setup?? I have them too but after about 6 mths some parts of it turn black. Will it affect the water?

They only need brackish water to breed. If you just want to keep them for fun they can live in either fresh water or salt water

I wouldn't mind it so they can breed but the HC will for sure melt in brackish. I don't want them to breed them since I intend to keep about 5 or less in there anyways so they can be perfectly happy

Cholla wood is great for shrimps in general. Provides a natural hiding place for them and micro organisms grow on them which are beneficial for the shrimps. They tend to get darker and they shouldn't harm shrimps in any way of they are the right type of cholla.
