Hi, anyone know where I can buy off the shelves tank hood with PL and eballast? Or is it possible to get someone to diy? How much will it cost roughly?

Another thing, I got some plywood at home, thinking of DIY but not very sure how...anyone can teach me or guide me?

    Thanks!

nature aquarium does diy lights. check with them.

using plywood is okay but you have to water proof them. else they will delaminate after a while from moisture soaking. and you need a fan to keep the wood cool to prevent any risk of fire.

Thicker plywood may be easier to work with an have less tendency of warping under load.

Building a tank hood? With PL lights inside? Make sure you've enough ventilation. It can get quite hot inside unless you got a chiller.
Otherwise, just buy off-the-shelve PL light sets and don't need the hood. Try Nature Aquarium.
