hello all,
anyone know where to get ADA-like clear hoses for aquarium use?
i have tried those selling in hardware shops, but they are just too thin, and they fold easily at bends (due to water weight in the hoses)
Anyone here have seen clear hoses that can make our (rimless, braceless, crystal glass, lily pipe) tanks look nicer?
Thanks all!

You can try Green chapter or C328.
If budget is not a constraint to you, you can get the original ADA clear tubing from Fishybusiness. You should be able to identify him under merchant page.
Beware of using non-aquarium clear hoses as those may contain plasticizers, which can kill eggs and babies
Digging up an old thread here. But do you know if these plasticizers would be released long term with continued usage of the hose?
Is it advisable to use cheaper garden hoses sold by those hardware shops for usage with our tank? I noticed that it is thinner but I am not sure if it will pose as a REAL problem. Is anyone else using cheaper alternative clear hoses as well?
I used a non ADA clear hose got it from joo koon factory. I forget the name of the company green something.
I used it for my filter input and output for a year now so far nothing bad happen. I used the 3mm thick hose.
I use both the official ADA clear hoses and the normal no-brand clear hoses (bought from a neighborhood hardware shop) for my tanks.... both have been working well for the past 2+ years, no issues with the livestocks so far.
Though i did notice the no-brand clear hoses do seem to become increasingly opaque over time (after repeated hose cleanings), while the ADA clear hoses still remain clear.
I guess if you are breeding particularly sensitive fishes or shrimps, then maybe the residual chemicals released by the hoses may affect them, in those cases then better to use the "aquarium specific" hoses.
