    About the speaker: Nature Calls

    A series of photography programmes held in conjunction with Woodland: nature, environment, community and art, an exhibition by Singapore Art Museum (SAM) at the Woodlands Regional Library.

    A Talk on Nature Photography - By Julian W

    This two-part talk by Julian W gives an introduction to the art of nature photography. He will share his experiences of the rewards of nature photography taking and the opportunities available locally and overseas. side from the slew of potentially breathtaking pictures, he will show the audience his reward of unraveling the secrets and beauty of often neglected locations in Asia. He will also discuss more about the places to capture 'wildlife' on film in Singapore, with an emphasis on minimising the intrusion to nature as photographers go about documenting Singapore's flora and fauna.

    Uncovering the Secrets of Zoo Photography - By Julian W

    Just because the animals are confined does not mean the job of capturing them on film is easier. Learn about the dos and don'ts of photographing captive subjects through an extensive collection of zoo photos that illustrate ways of getting around visible barriers so animals appear in as natural a surrounding as possible.

    Julian W. is a professional photographer currently based in Singapore. Besides being the honorary photographer for the Singapore Zoological Gardens, Julian's images have been used by the Discovery Channel, Asian Geographic amongst many others. He hopes that through his images, people can learn to appreciate the boundless beauty of nature.
