Means lack of nutrients, if you are using them to absorb nutrients, it a good sign isn't it?

If you are killing duckweed somehow, you should try to patent it. They may be many folks interest in it; myself included.

Duckweed is pretty much a pest in planted aquaria and very hard to completely eradicate. If you know what is killing your duckweed, you might have something very useful to many people.
