    Is it possible to remove the top plastic part from the small FivePlan and Nisso tanks? I think it looks cleaner and lights are easier to fit on top this way.

    Anyone tried?

    not advisable as those could be bracing.
    removing them may cause your tank to 'burst' at the seams.

    You have a point... anyway, I tried hammering it upwards with a screwdriver, won't budge. I give up. Better be safe.
