thanks for all the information any idea does kuhli loach attack shrimp.shrimplet ?
From what I know, pipefish hunts live food. The baby shrimps will probably not be safe from it.

Xiaofeng, never see that loach eat shrimplet.
It is bottom feeder, plus it like to "poke" substrate.
I've been told many times they eat snails. But never see it myself 1st hand.

I have a hillstream loach that did nothing to the shrimps.
From what I've researched from google, hillstream loaches are almost pure algae eaters and their mouth cannot even find algae tabs properly, let alone hunt shrimps. Hahaha.
Mine is very very shy and hides almost all day long. The shrimplets and shrimps did not seemed disturbed by it.
Pipefish and kuhli loaches may hunt shrimplets though...not recommended
