Congrats on your successful shrimp tank!Your tank looks a little bare, maybe you can add some driftwood or something?
Hi to all AQ fellow members,
Just to share my finally first successful simple shrimp tank setup. I'm very new to shrimp keeping and I still have a lot more to learn.
I had failed many attempts due to lack of knowledge in shrimp keeping before joining AQ forum. After reading up past threads and sticky posts in AQ, I realized that it's not as simple as what the LFS had mentioned to me.
I apologized for the poor quality photo and I hope to have negative comments if my setup needs to be improve. Thanks guys and have a nice day ahead.
Regards,
Billy

Well done! Is your air pump underpowered or did you purposely set the bubble rate?
Thanks bro. I have previously placed a piece of driftwood in my one of my failed attempts and realized most of the shrimps hide and died there so this time round I try to keep it simple first. I'm reading the aqua scrapping section, hoping to learn how to tie and decorate driftwood with moss.
Thanks bro, I purposely set the bubble rate low with a valve control. Do I have to increase the bubble rate? Because when I set higher, I realized the waste and debris are floating all over hence I switched to a lower rate.
Hi billy,
Good that you joined and saved many shrimp lives.
What soil is that?
Is the tank inside your room with aircon? Temperature is good.
Learning the hardway, not the highway.

Hi Felix,
It's a brandless semi mixture of soil and sand I bought from Y618. He told me not to get soil as I'm using under gravel filter.
I'm glad that this forum is very informative when it comes to tank set up and water parameter and etc... The tank is in my room with a mini fan switch on during the day and at night with the air conditioner on temperature will be around 24'C.
Just a quick check with fellow members, I'm using under gravel filter right now and do I need to add a sponge filter as well?
A few more photos to share..

To great to have a strong determination...
Never give up...try and try...
Hope to see shrimps flooding your tank.
By the way...what soil you using?
you may want to get more plant in your tank because when shrimps want to molt(change shell) they are very fragile and they need a place to take cover.
by the way what filter are you using? and are you feeding powdered food to your shrimps?
Hi all, I'm back to share some of my humble shrimp photos. Reset my tank due to ammonia spike with help from a kind and generous bro from this forum.
