Bro, did you read through the thread or not ah? You sound like you anyhow jump in after reading the last few posts.

It's already stated that they were sold to him as High Grade BKK not as culls. When he collected it the seller already put it in a tau huey tub. So the colour was not good but the seller say it was stressed and it would come back. But until now it hasn't.

Not everyone has so much bkk import experience like you.

    Focus on the topic guys.

I'm puzzled like Zack too. We've answered the question so what other help does the TS require?

There can be so many possible reasons for the BKK to lose colors that it is impossible to pinpoint it, especially when there's so little info to work with.

I can only say that the TS should learn from this and avoid buying shrimps that cannot be observed in their home tank. For expensive shrimps, better to make the effort to go to the seller's place and see the shrimps in their home tanks.
If the seller prepacks or refuse to let you visit, either don't buy, or be prepared for shrimps that do not match expectations.

But to be frank this is a risk of buying shrimps and sometimes these decoloration happens and it is not the seller fault and buyer fault but is the shrimp not Adapted no the Enviroment(water para)and it is permanent. Silaen got elaborate that before during talk.
To minimise this he say ask the seller their water para if it is very near or better same as your current tank water para then the decoloration risk will be narrower.
Oh ya to add on also to minimise dripping method slowly.

    Speaking freely from my mind.
I can understand if simple shrimps bought from a seller is prepacked. But think the "slightly" more expensive ones most bro is allow buyer to visit instead of touch and go.

For the thread wise water parameters very close?

Got any sample picture from original keeper? Maybe problem already seen before over with seller side before?

We need more info on his tank parameters and more specific questions in that case.

One thing I should make clear in advance though, please do not turn this into a witch hunt on the seller.

Andy Bro is pretty new in shrimp hobby. I would say that his first shrimp tank are filled with BKK, BB and GEBT unlike most of us, crs or bds. However, this does not justified him been knowledgeable enough in shrimp hobby. The seller told him that the colour was faded due to the stress when seller caught the shrimps and put it in a tub. I am sure many sellers or buyers experienced shrimp fading colour during transaction which is pretty normal. Hence it is understandable that Andy purchased the shrimps. I think the issue seemed to be the seller now.
Thanks bro for answering on my behalf .

Bro Andy, at times certain shrimps are price vs quality... Price of KK is dropping so maybe quality out there varies a lot... It's normally a 'price vs quality' issue.. (good shrimps not cheap, cheap shrimps not good..)

Not 100% but this applies to some 'high grades' shrimps around...

Happy shrimping and take it as a lesson..

One last thing I must say is , since he knew that his Shrimp decoloring is due to his water condition is no good as Ken bro has mention early on cos he help him to decom his tank .He should have let me when I question him and not just said SURE THE COLOR WILL BE BACK,NOW BECAUSE OF STRESS .If he let me know in advance the final decision will be on me , buy or don't buy . I feel that this is not fair to me,I have just started this hobby and I don't want to upset myself because of this incident . Lastly thanks those AQ bros who been have helping me and giving me advise .THANKS !!!!

Yah, but a bit late now. Take it as a learning lesson. Now what you can do is to breed them. The offsprings should be okay.

    1. Nothing that you can do now. The sales is over. Decolouration like this will be most likely permanent.breed it and the offsprings will be okay.

    2. I do think I know who is the seller now. Please check his blog for initial pictures of the kks whn he bought. I think it's okay when he first bought.

    3. We all know that it's unfair on your part. But now you just have to wait and breed them. Look on the brighter side of the part. there is not much point in continuing this thread when the experienced bros have gave their views already.

    4. Good luck on your breeding.
    Zack

    Andy woo. Don't give up.
The gene of the kk is there, what already is paid no choice.
Can only hope your water conditions will improve the coloration over time or the offspring as mention by shrimp gurus above.

Alway will learn from mistake during the start of a hobby.

Yes. We had all paid our due "school fees" when we were beginners, losing shrimps or buying shrimps that didn't meet expectations after they were released into our tanks.
Buying from home breeders/marketplace, there is always a risk that we have to expect.
