All the shrimps (Malayan, Rock, Yamato) except Cherry, in one of my tank hide under the driftwood most of the time ?!?! Initially I thought all of them died until I flipped the wood over and saw all of them hiding underneath. The Cherry shrimps on the other hand are always feeding on top of the mosses.

Any idea why they are all hiding and do you guys have this problem ?

Do you have fishes that are quite big? Yamatos are intimidated by these fishes and will hide away for safety, even if the fishes don't attack.

Only 3 small platys and the shrimps have been in the tank for about a month. They seem to be healthy, just prefer to feed off the drift wood instead of mosses !

I rarely see my yamatoes.... only when an occasional one ends up on the floor, or when I switch on the lights in the middle of the night, and glimpse leggy things scurrying frantically for cover.

I never have any trouble seeing yamatoes moving in my tank. They are always there when I drop those tetra tabimin for my cories...(Sometimes I felt like removing all of them as they always grab those tabs and disappear into the forest of plants! No food for the slow cories )
