Unknown source of rocks may contain traces of copper which are highly fatal to shrimp. Rather safe than to be sorry. I always quarantine those rocks with some cull shrimp in separate tank for at least 2weeks before introducing them into main tank.

I have kept CRS with rocks for more then 6 months... They survive but the parameter is totally not suitable for CRS... GH gradually climbs to 14dGH...
It's a risk hobbyist takes if they want play with rocks.. But no risk taken, no lesson learnt.. That's what I have gone through...
