All of my eheim canister has a bigger hose size input and a smaller size output...2217..2026...2028...

Recently get myself a China brand canister...and was given 1 pair of bigger size valve tap and 1 pair of small size valve tap.

Should I follow with the input big and output small?

Is there a purpose of this?
Create more pressure to cultivate more bacteria?
