Hello helpful people of AQ! I have 2 newbie questions.

Firstly, when cycling a new tank, when can/should I put in the substrate and start planting/scaping?

Secondly, what can I do to get rid of mosquito larvae in my shrimp only tank?

    Thanks!

By right you should put the substrate, put the hardscape, scape the tank, plant the plants, fill the water and start the cycle.

Put small fish like boraras brigitae to eat the larvae.

So you meant you cycle your tank without substrate but with shrimps?

No no, my current tank has shrimps (the one with the mosquito problem). I'm preparing to cycle a new tank
