    Hi,

I be trying to rear CRS in my tank for long...but they just keep K.O.... until i give up...
recently found some time , before i try my luck again. must get it right... my chiller chill at 24deg...co2 run 1 bubble per 3sec(think so). very minimum co2 into tank....t5 4tube light on 7hrs a day starting from 8-11am, 7-10pm (two timing)

    test my water parimeter recently
    ph - 6.4
    gh - 4 to 5
    no2 - 0
    no3 - 0
    amonia - 0.25

the rest dont have the test kit.

anyone has successful breed crs / bds with co2 and t5 light?
any advice why my crs keep reporting .....i kept them with sakura, otos, horned snails....no pest like dragonfly nymps spoted.....

only thing now maybe the light or co2 ? i never dosed any fertilizer now...last time yes....

Some have success some fail using Co2.

You might want to elimate the cause one by one.

    How old is your tank?
    Soil?
ammonia present although it is not the necessary reason but if your tank is small than it will post a problem.
do you have rocks? coz don't understand why you GH is 4-5 (i do not have rocks whenever my i add my aged water in my gh get lower) might want to check on that.

FTS will help bros here to identify possible issue.

    Hi there,

Can I know have you reared crs without co2 before?
Think I can recall your tank have fissden mesh.

Maybe some other factors at fault? I've never breed crs before as you know bro.

But not likely co2 as your bps quite low. Maybe really ammonia?

A current fts would help. But avex maybe point out something of concern.

If you had dose ferts in the past, it may be a TDS problem...do you know your tank's TDS?

Some ferts (maybe even most ferts) contains traces of stuff which can kills these shrimps.

In my humble opinion, if you wish to keep and breed shrimps(crs/bkk/wr), it is best to keep it simple... keep ammonia and nitrite to 0 and do not dose any ferts... you should be alrite.... you can probably set a timer for the co2 to be switched off when lights are off to prevent ph fluctuations (when the plants are not photosynthesizing..).

Hi, I had the same problem. There are just so any factors..

Previously I couldn't figure why they weren't breeding and changed my filter media from some cheapo second hand rings to the eheim substrate and mech pro and it worked. They started breeding.

Then recently I started a new tank, had three divisions using a divider with mesh in the middle. There was hardly much surface agitation but definitely there was some flow. And my SS CRS in the division with lowest flow didn't breed. However my cherries and A/S CRS were breeding. So I took out the partitions and they started breeding. Immediately the next day I saw one berries. I still don't know why.

I guess you could try doing smth different like adding air pump, or changing ferts or using distilled water for water change.. These are cheap methods to see if it works.

My media i put in at first day are biohome and ehiem substrate too. frist day i dose only distilled water , after i achieve ph 6.0 , i stop completely....lol now ph=6.4 le but that was after a long period.
forget to add , i put in sera peat too at first day(take out alreadly), bioplus , tonice pro, gradvias, rich water, bt9 after every water change.mineral water ultra depends , usually once a month.... yesterday after water change amno =0.... but for queries , my no3 also always 0 . is that right?

    Hi all.

I recently got the latest update from my tank.
    Ph = 6.4
    GH = 5
PPM = 127 (mosura tds pen)

reading should not be good enough for crs?
    I heard that ppm = 150-200, gh =4
