    Re: assasin snail.

Assassin snail normally eats snails, fish foods...i never see it attack my shrimps before but i did saw it eating one of the dead shrimps...

I even saw my shrimplets grazing/hitch hiking on asssassin snail's shell before...lol no harm done so far, but there are rumours assassin snail will attack any shrimp during molting, so having sufficient hiding places is very crucial.

Its a nice addition to scape-tanks as they will attack pest snails. They will eat fish food if there is no snails left for them.

    Re: assasin snail.

I'd seen assassin snails snacking on a live adult cherry shrimp although I'm not sure if the shrimp was sick. I'd ramshorn snails thrown into a breeder tank with assassin snails and they survived for a couple of weeks. I would say that if you had feed enough for your crustaceans which I didn't in the former, they'll hunt for food for survival but if they are well fed, they'll save the food for rainy days. I do agreed that there should have enough hiding spaces for the shrimps during molting.

    Hi xiaofeng,

Confirm your horn snail have been whack by assassin snail. It should be possible but your the 1st one I know.

I only have seen them sucking the life from sickly shrimps. In front of my eye.

    Re: assasin snail.

You guys are lucky; get to see your snails in action. I have 6 assasin snails and not once seen them munching on other snails. All I ever get to see are empty shells.

Keep them in a container with some substrate or sand and dump snails.
Look back every hour or so you should see some action.
