Chiller only consume large electricity when the compressor is ON. The compressor only on if the upper set temperature reached. When the compressor is OFF, it only consume fraction of the power for the sensor circuitry.

So I figure no point switching off the chiller and risk temperature fluctuations in an attempt to save that tinny weeny bit on electricity?![]()
not advisable to switch it off though... who know if suddenly during the night it gets so humid and warm that it might reach 30 deg C... i had experiences of my house surrounding air measuring 30deg C during the night, probably due to my house location...if you are keeping expensive/sensitive faunas i think it is better to leave it on..
