    water changes
if you are using tap water you will have to age the declorinated water for a week with bubbling and you can add softwater till desired water parameters, and after water changes add a little of bt-9 because due of water change there will be death of natural bacteria.

if you are using bottle(distilled or ro) water you should add mineral plus so you can replace mineral lost through water change.

    recommended water parameters

crs,bkk etc ph high fives to 6.5
fire reds cherries etc ph 6 to 6.8

    gh 2-4

    tds 100-150
    temp 23-26 degrees
    filters.

recommended filter maintenance is every 6 months
prefilters are ok but not good to your wallet.

algae seen on our tanks indication
purple algae = tank water parameters are not very good and you need do something about it.
brown algae = your tank is ok.
green algae = your tank is stable.

    water clearness

if your tanks water is slightly blurry it is ok it is not always a bad indication of water parameters and that can mean good water.

    katapan leaves

you can always put one in your tank to indicate shrimps hunger if they start to eat the leaf means there is not enough food.

    soil
    recommended soil height is 5-8cm
can be higher BUT you have to cycle it longer and your tanks buffering life is longer as there is more soil.

    foods
mixture of powdered and pellet foods would be good.

    light tanning

shrimps under lights tend to display better whites and reds
    light power is 12k kelvin.

    plants

low maintenance plant can help absorb nitrates.
floating plants are also good to have in shrimps tanks. frogbits, mini lettuce for example.

    shrimps colouration

some berried shrimps may have lousier colour because thier shell is expanded
however some shrimps may have even better colours when berried
age of shrimps also will cause their colours to drop in quality.

if anything is wrong or not added do tell me i will do the changes accordingly
    thanks for reading

Age water- dechorin the water and air the water for one week.

Well, I'm not very experienced in shrimp keeping but I did study water technology in poly. Having added anti-chlorine, anti-chloramine into the water this removes the chorine but somehow might produce some form of nitrogen in the form of either ammonia, nitrite or nitrate. Hence, you would need aeration to break the surface tension of the tank water to allow these gases to be released and so that ur tank water will have more oxygen. Some might say that half a wk of aeration is sufficient but no doubt it is safer to aerate for a wk. Personally, all i do is added a small amount of anti-chlorine into a tub, after which i added water via a high speed jet in the toilet, this creates some aeration and also to mix the anti-chlorine well. I am able to use the water after a day=) I keep sakuras which probably are hardier hence the lack of aging time.

You can try carnivore pellets from hikari for meat base meal. I feed frenzy, carnivore, excel, bioplus, tonic pro and shrimp breeding food.

This is more true for CRS, for fire red, it get redder as it age, assuming water quality remain same.

Hi silane, in your years of breeding shrimp, have you come across the infamous white spot disease that shrimps in aquaculture face?
    Just curious?
