Hi, just a comparison between both the subject mentioned tests.

After the co2 tabs where added, as per the sera strip test there was an increase in the co2 and decrease in PH which is what we expect. But unfortunately on the JBL liquid test - no changes were reflected.

    Reasons:

    1) Actually Sera Co2 tabs did nothing when added which reflects on the JBL liquid test
    2) The JBL Liquid Test might have been expired as i have this kit with me since last August, 2011.
    3) Sera Strip test is trustable- as it gives me what i had expected - increase in co2 and decrease in PH while adding the tabs.
Please advise what seems to you...

Below is the small chamber inside the aquarium where the co2 tablets were added and will be added depending on the requirements.

(y? all this was done because i had a very low co2 of always below 10 mg/l. And, currently i cannot afford and rather not intrested on a full co2 setup.)

Seachem Excel would melt down my Valls, and egeria.

Bro, do you have any other liquid test kit?

I did purchase strip test but have problem as 2 tests seems to tell different results.

Btw, how much AED/USD does a complete set jbj co2 cost over your end?

I paid 80.00AED over here for the Sera Plant Care Set.

Iam not sure of a JBL Co2 complete set, if you can specify exactly the model that you are looking for i can check it out for you.

    Will always be my pleasure.

Just in case you cannot get the CO2 tabs, you can try using just simple yeast and sugar mixture. That will also produce CO2.

Yupp! i did that. I have built a DIY co2 using the beverage bottle 2.5L, mixture of yeast, sugar and also added baking soda as my tap KH is 3 dkh. and its in place and doing its work since yesterday evening 5.00pm after the lights were turned off and o2 was switched on.

There has be another issue now as the co2 level has risen termedously in 14hrs of supply as per the JBL Co2 permanent test, checked today at 7:00am when the lights came back on and o2 is switched off . I do not have or know an idea to control the DIY co2 at night and only switch on in the morning.

do you think it is right to switch on the o2 / 24hrs to give a control to co2 generation and keep the co2 in level.

Hope the level will lower from today morning when the plants start consuming, as any further increase in co2 as per the test will be lethal to fish.

keeping fingers crossed. if it still tends to rise, i will disconnect and stop the use of diy co2.

Will appreciate if an idea to control the DIY co2 generation will be shared.
