I think your Cherry infection is quite bad. If I will you, I would simply cull it.

Good find bro. One thing I need to warn about using such traps. Make sure you don't leave it unattended for too long as too many shrimps/fish will eventually end up inside and overcrowd that tiny space, causing deaths.
Many of the deaths are also because of oxygen depletion, so poke small holes all over the trap so some water flow will get in and push out the stale water inside.

I seldom do this, but if I'm certain a shrimp or fish is going to die anyway, I'll put it in a tub and slowly chill the tub with ice or fridge. Once all movement cease, I'll add alot of ice or freeze it in the freezer until it's truly dead.

Note that chilling must be gradual and direct contact with ice should be avoided.

I see. Thank you once again. I will try this method if I have to do it someday.

Btw, do you know if soda water can be used also? e.g. put soda water in a tau huay container and drop the shrimp inside.

Soda water is very acidic and will cause a painful death. Remember the time you choked on coke and it went up your nose? That burning sensation is from the carbonic acid reacting with the tissue linings in your airways.
Imagine that going into the gills of the shrimp.

CO2 is an approved method for euthanasia. However, there are disagreements with how exactly this CO2 should be presented and how quickly and concentrated it should be.
Some says its more humane to cull with a quick and highly concentrated form of CO2, the animal would be knocked out before they feel the acid burns.
I'm from the camp that thinks it less painful to use a slow and low concentration to slowly put the animal to sleep and then let them die in their sleep. I would imagine it would just make them very sleepy and they would then fall unconscious and never wake up.

    I see.
I'm also in a dilemma on whether to opt for 长痛不如短痛 (shorter suffering) or 短痛不如长痛 (longer suffering).
Most likely I'll go for your earlier suggestion, the ice method.
