What is your substrate? Forget about CO2 calculator, it does not work if you have something in your tank that effect the pH or/and kH. How old is the setup? has it fully cycle?
Dear bros, Need some help on the a/m issue.
These are my specs:
Tank size: 2ft x 2ft x 1ft/height (water fill close to a ft)
PH - 5.5 (Pinpoint PH meter, Sera testkit, JBL test strip)
KH- 4-5 dkh (Sera test kit & JBL test strip)
GH - 7 dkh (Teststrip)
CO2 - 569 ppm (Calculator from Mizu World)
NO3 - 0-10 (Teststrip)
NO2 - 0 (Teststrip)
NH4 - 0 (Teststrip)
Temp -25.5 dgrees
Lighting period - 6pm - 12am
Light - T5 x 4 tubes (12,000k)
CO2 injection with diffuser - 5pm - 1am
Water change - 3-4 small buckets (last night, 23 August 2012) added with Sizhen, Mosura Mineral Plus, BT9
Dosage: Just dose - ADA Brightly K
Weekly plans: Dose ADA brightly K (2 pumps) / Seachem Excel (1 small caps)
Fishes - NA
Shrimps - Around 5 shrimps (BKK, CRS, BDS)
Plants consists of some HC, Glasso, others Im not too sure their names
Questions:
1) How am i supposed to reduce the CO2 level?
2) Is it a new tank syndrome and its common?
3) Should I off my CO2 injections?
4) Others feedbacks.

Bro, my substrate is benabachi Shrimp soil. Intially wan setup as shrimp tank only with some fissdens but in the end, get addicted to plants too. Fully cycle bro...about 3 weeks...check all the water parameters.Originally Posted by Shadow

Mr aqua bio ring will push up yr ph. I did an experiment this morning with multiple bio ring brands. Sad to know that Mr aqua will push up yr ph. a painful lesson for me to strip down my setup to find out who is the culprit that keep pushing up my newly setup tank ph.... Before, ph = 7.6, After, as of this morning ph = 6.6. API test kit

Shrimpist: thanks for highlighting.btw, what are the remedies for my tank now? Previously. Im using mr aqua bio rings for my previous shrimps tank but the ph maintain at a constant level. I guess its my ada substrate tat maintaing at lower PH.
if you are talking about your CO2, nothing, get drop checker to really check what is your CO2 level. As I said earlier the calculator does not work if you have something that effecting the water pH/kH beside CO2. In your case is benibachi Shrimp soil will reduce pH and maybe Mr Aqua as well.
Bro shadow: thanks again. But i guess i will mointor again. If remove and replace mr aqua and my substrate...its a hell of job. I do have a drop checker....now showing low CO2...im simply confused.... how come u mentioned dun refer to that calculator?
Because the calculator was assuming that the pH value was cause by CO2. Unfortunately in the Aquarium environment, many thing that can effect pH and kH.
Yeah i do agree that...so best to obtain references frm drop checker rite bro?
