I managed to scrub the marker ink off using a toothbrush. Maybe you wanna try those scrub floor brush?
Hi guys!
So I was looking for some small rocks to scape my tank. I went to C328 and happily bought 2 pieces. When I got home however I noted that the prices were written in marker pen and i am not able to scrub off using a sponge (no extra toothbrushes) and water. What do I do now? I really like my rocks =/ any advise?

one of it is more granite like and I managed to scrub it till it faded, but still visible. The other one feels more like a sandstone kinda feel, more porous and harder to scrub off. looks like I have a lot more scrubbing for the sandstone like one..
Sandpaper the stone??

Hm that'll wear out the porous surface and smoothen it? I'm soaking it in water overnight and see if it's easier to scrub tomorrow.
Use thinner? Solvent based cleaner will work fine..

soak in bleach for a day.. thats how i clean my rocks. next day just brush it everything will come off.
Yea I was thinking about bleach as soaking in water doesn't seem to work. Bleach for cleaning floors will work? Was worried about it poisoning my fishes. Haha.
Oh and do you mix bleach with water? Or just 100% bleach. If it doesn't work I'll have to use thinner then.
10% bleach with 90% warm water.. You can go a google search.. there are articles on it.

You can try nail polish remover also.

Ok I added some bleach into the water the rocks are sitting in. I'll try scrubbing tomorrow.
If you're not prepared to neutralize bleach or any other chemicals in attempt to remove permanent ink, toothbrush (hard bristles) + toothpaste work wonders.

I heard bleach is basically chlorine, so I'll just have to douse it in water with anti chlorine. So that's my preferred method. I tried scrubbing it with a tooth brush again this morning, but still not much luck with the real porous one. I'll let it soak longer later and if not try toothpaste. If still no luck i'll try nail polish remover. Thanks for the advice guys!

looks like bleach failed, tooth paste failed too.
danged... just grow some algae on it and you probably won't notice it after a while

You can try goo gone from DIY shops. It'll probably work for you.
Use sand paper to sand it off
