Is this your glass belly red lace?
Cute yellow tummies and red dorsal! Hahaha I have some chapalang ones in my tank, not sure what, but currently trying to breed 2 pairs of yellow/black guppies.
Just sharing a small video clip of my 2-3 day old guppy fry snacking on some Hikari Fancy Guppy micro pellets.

Ohh nope. The glass belly red lace has been passed on to my friend to continue building on the line. I'm quite limited in terms of the number of tanks.. So, now I'm just sticking to this crossbreed guppy strain. One half of their grandparents is a glass belly red lace though.. Had to wait till this F2 drop before the recessive glass belly gene surfaces.. I'm quite excited to see this batch grow.![]()

Guppy and Platy fries are easier to raise and more fun as they don't require caring for the eggs, which is a job for a specialist.
Many years ago, I had so many guppies to give away when I was raising them in a rusty 4-gallon emulsion paint can. Lol.![]()
LIFE IS UNBEARABLE WITHOUT A FISH TANK!!!
True. Live bearers skip the egg caring problem. However, being prolific means you need to carefully select breeders and also maintain multiple lines to ensure the longevity and success of your strain. At the same time, understanding genetics and experimenting to achieve your desired results is a whole different ballgame. There's still a thousand different combinations of patterns and colors yet to be explored!

Hi vannel, congrats on the frys and they're looking good.
You've been using Hikari (good results that you're getting so far? In terms of growth) and what other food have you been using or trying so far?

Hey bro, yes, I've been using 2 Hikari foods (First Bites, Fancy Guppy). In addition, I have also been using some decapped bse, Sera Guppy Bits and the occasional tubifex when I find time to visit the LFS.
Growth rate is decent. Not as explosive as if you feed a constant diet of live foods, but I think its reasonable. The 1 month + fry are now starting to show color and I should be able to sex them with confidence soon.
In any case, these fry are not expected to grow into XL sizes. Half their parentage stems from the red lace glass belly strain and those are not the biggest guppies around. The picture shows only the ones that carry the glass belly strain.

Hi vannel,
Nice. Keep in touch. Would like to know more of your guppy regime, breeding, setup etc.
Cheers
