Greeting to all bro / sis,
Recently I have purchase a unit of Exo Terra tank for a former.
Now tank side is as follows:-
1) Size: 8 X 8 X 12 inch
Initial plan was for planning terrarium, now thinking of housing the
Tank with Chinese Fire bellies Newt.
Question: -
1) Wondering if housing the newt in this tank is advisable?
2) Just check the depth of the tank for water is about 1 inch. Is it to
shallow for housing the newt?
3) Saw some photo posted by Evolution, he is using similar size but his
is a tank and water level pretty high.
4) thinking of adding a tank waterfall in the setup, is it advisable?
Once again many thanks for the guidance in advise.
P.S. anyone seen any Chinese Fire Bellies Newt anywhere, can please
pm me.
Many thanks - Knight.
1.Too small of a tank. 10 gallons per trio, so on so forth.
2.Hypselotriton are completely aquatic.
4.Hypselotriton are pond newts, little water movement is advisable.
Did I mention that they survive properly at only 16-20 celsius? Some pets are better not kept.
Hi Knight
It is okay to discuss about how to have a good up keeping the fire-belly newts, fire-belly toads or any other exotic critters as long if you have any of those beautiful critters but please do not release them in wild okay. This is why we are in this place for, to share our passion and the joy of being the creator of the design and any type of ecosystem within the Exo-Terra tank the paludarium or vivarium, that offers both land, water, and air for amphibians or fishes to live in. However, if you are saying how to obtain or buy or ask any of our members here to sell these banned critters to you in any posting or thread. I must say Altum_lover76 the mod is right.
Do let me know if you have any but please do not reveal how or where you obtain them, okay, I will be more than glad to discuss with you how to improve your current tank to keep your critters really happy.
Greeting Bro,
Please pardon me for my late returns.
Noted you advice.
However I think the professional advice provided by delhezi is very professional.

Now diverting my attentions.
So sorry nothing much to share. No hard feeling.
Cheers - Knight.
Hi knight,
No problem mate...I do agree with "Some pets are better not kept." It's applying to any pet hobbyist has no clue of up-keeping some pets and will end up in an unpleasant way to both pet and owner.
