I have just started shrimp keeping recently and I have 3 different type of shrimps in my tank, namely cherries, snow white and yellow shrimps.

I am seeing molted shell every few other days.

Every shell has the same colour, transparent basically.

okay, I am being a bit naive here, I have the thought that all molted shell will take after the colour of the shrimps, looks like this is not the case.

Am I the only one having this thought, at the start of the hobby at least?

This poll is just for a fun side of this hobby.
It would be interesting to see the results. Hopefully I am not the only person having this thought.

I see. Thanks for sharing, bro. I will make more observation on those molted shells of my shrimps, to see if it carries any tinge of yellow or red. It's interesting to learn these things that never strike to my mind before.

    Hi Mods,

Can anyone of you help me to change the settings of this poll so that we get to see the Results (without closing the poll)?

I am hoping to see something like this poll:
    http://www.aquaticquotient.com/forum...do=showresults
but I want mine to be anonymous, don't show the voter's name that is.

    Thank you.

    Hi 14litre,

This is will need to ask admin to redo.
As far as I know, current results will all be gone. Might have more detail lost.

Wow! Thanks Mods/Vinz. This polling result is showing up now. It's very interesting to see the responses.

Folks, please feel free to cast your votes if you are reading this.

Btw, it is an anonymous poll, no names will be shown or registered (from poll starter's access at least).

    Cheers.

PS: I am going to start another thread to collect the pictures of molted shell. Please feel free to contribute in that thread if you have any ya. Any molted shell pictures that you find it interesting, be it a full form, splitted, resembled some celebrity face, looked like a 4D (lottery) number, anything ya.

Thank you so much for the contribution guys. Very good information and it is great to learn and gained more understanding on this area.

The new thread (on the collection of molted shells) that I mentioned earlier, has been created and here's a quick link to it.

Re: Colours of Shrimps = Colour of molted shell (What is your take?)

It's a good thing they are of different colour really, every morning I see something white I go ''ok molted nothing wrong''. However, if I see something pink, it is always bad news.

I didn't had that thought before. My family though thought the molt was a dead shrimp being devoured leaving only the shell.
