    Hello all!

    Just joined the forum!

I started a planted tank with my 7 year old daughter yesterday!

    Here's our setup!

Hopefully we can achieve a nice looking aquascape like the many seen in this forum.

Nice one on getting the little one involve. =)

Would you mind taking a close up picture of the front tank and mind sharing the setup? ie subtrate, plants, filtration etc. The filter looks like an Eheim Pro 3. Not certain of the model number though. 2L CO2 tank with dual solenoid valve. Is the plant on mesh (right side) purposely place there?

Good start! Now, next you have to teach her to water change. LOL

Not sure which plant you're referring to - the green grass on top of the rock is on mesh though. Yup you're right, it's a Eheim Pro 3 250. Np, I'll post a close up pic in awhile along with the setup of the tank.

Thanks! Have not decided but probably a simple eco system of fauna. Have just added a school of neon tetras. Will be adding fresh water shrimps, snails, etc probably next week.

Re: Noob 2 ft Low Tank Day 0

i can see there's the following in the tank.

    Windelov fern
    Hairgrass?
    Ricca on mesh?
    Marimo ball

    The rest not too sure.

I think the red tall plant in the middle back is not aquatic though..

For some reason I can't seem to find the PM option. Maybe I'm still too new. Anyway, I got mine from Sea View. In case it's against the forum rules to post exact prices - paid between $150 - $200 for it.

    Your still new.
Saying price range is ok, Unless you say where vs where exact then wrong.

in the sense of killing lfs business when you do that. Long term no lfs hobbyist lose out. (even when some hobbyist do imports on their own are cheaper, but we cannot depend on hobbyist to import everything a lfs sells.)

Ps, you've already been told by Eric. On sms lingo else where. But it's funny when I took 10seconds to understand what's "dotter" lol. Anyway will help you correct it.

Wanted two CO2 outlets so tried DIY.

This worked after lots of tap tweaking but it doesn't hold once it's turned off.

Got a proper CO2 splitter valve from C328.

Changed the standard Eheim green plastic inlets and outlets to glass ones by ANS, which looked so much better!

Re: Noob 2 ft Low Tank Day 0

My tank is in a serious state of distress - algae just keeps on growing, plants are growing but looks pale and frail, shrimps are dying due to regular administration of excel.

We thought all the shrimplets have perished not long after birth. So seeing this little one and a few others still alive and grown up (after a period of disappearance) really makes our day!

Re: Noob 2 ft Low Tank Day 0

My 2 ft tank is 40 days old today. It has been both a home and tomb for many a shrimp.

Here's how it looked on Day 1.

    And on Day 40.

How much bps for the tank?
    What's the schedule for fert?

The rear plant vivipara? If so trim it please bro, hair messy already.

Your hairgrass seems to be yellowing even thou they are spreading. Is this correct? Confirm this with me and spreading is limited and slow or not bad growth but they just turn yellow.
