A tad hard to see from the pictures but they look like detritus worms. Not harmful.
The other possibility (less likely) is planaria. If you can see a traingular head on the worms then its more likely to be planaria. They may eat small shrimp.

I also see this once in awhile. Arent they suppose to be eaten by fish as well?
Is the head visible? Or microscpoe or macro lense visible only?

"... thanks will always be given for helping me..."
Thank you very much for your help to identify these worms. Any idea how I can get rid of them. By the way, this tank is for keeping yellow prawns only.
I cleared them by unloading a pack of feeder goldfish, all gone in 30 minutes time. cheap and good solution![]()
Well to get rid of them you can either get fish to eat most of them or feed less.
The detritus worms actually thrive and will have outbreaks when you feed too much and there's too much detritus in the substrate, hence the name. Proper husbandry and maintenance should be able to starve them out.
Thank you to all. It's really helpful.
