Check in with the luaggge. It should be packed in no more then 3 litres of water.

Hi, I'll be going Taiwan for holidays and probably checking out the beautiful selection of shrimps there as well.
Has anyone managed to buy shrimps overseas and bring back to Singapore (personal keeps, not sale)? I'm also wondering on the airlines (10ml liquid) cabin restrictions. Like how am I going to successfully bring in 10-20 shrimps from Taiwan in a plastic bag (or maybe, those tiny turtle tank). I don't want to risk my shrimps going down the drains during the customs checks.
Please advise, thanks!![]()

Do you mean, keep them inside an airtight container (probably with oxygen stone) along with my clothes? Must I declare it on the card?

i thought airline is 100ml? i went hongkong goldfish market also keen to bring back plants..

cabin liquid limit is 10ml.. unless you bought alcohol from departure dfs then they allow the 1l into cabin.. never tried livestock in check-in luggage before...
i only manage to find this: http://www.ava.gov.sg/InformationFor...Fish/index.htm but still not sure about shrimp pets![]()

You must check in the livestocks. Each person is allowed to bring in up to 30 pieces of livestocks in not more than 3L of water.
Make sure the species is not protected under CITES.

Buy from Taiwan breeder, they will pack for you in breathing bag with foam box.
Pack and check in your luggage.

Has anyone checked in shrimps in your check in luggage when travelling with SQ flights? Check with SIA but they told me no livestocks allowed in all SQ flights.
This issue has been addressed quite a number of times already.
In any case, you are allowed to check in the livestock. No hand carry. I've brought shrimps back from Taiwan before and stowed them in my luggage. Declared upon entry to Singapore at the red channel of customs with no issues. As pointed out, 3L of water, 30 livestock. Whichever maxes out first will be the limit. Just for your information, I didn't use the styrofoam box. I brought along a Coleman tumbler because it can withstand more pressure, keeps the temperature constant, and will not break/leak. No casualties after being bagged for > 24hrs.

I brought in 10 crystals from Taiwan before. Need to checkin them, no issue when bringing across the gate.
