Hi Bros,

Thought of changing my lighting system to metal halide to minimise the usage of 4 PL lights to achieve 150W.

A few questions:

Is the watt use same as the PL lights, if currently I am on 3w/gal, is it correct to say that I need only 1 metal halide bulb?

How abt the Kelvins in metal halide bulb? I did not see any with 6500K & above.

Anyone Bro is using MH bulb? Is the below bulb recommended to use? Please share your experience.

150 watt Aqualine 5,000 German HQI double ended Metal Halide Bulb, AQUALINE BUSCHKE $US55.50

150 watt Aqualine 5,000 German HQI double ended Metal Halide Bulb, AQUALINE BUSCHKE. The Aqualine 5,000 is a metal halide lamp with a color temperature of 5,000 Kelvin (daylight color). This lamp was specially developed for the illumination of fresh water aquaria. It has a high percentage of red light and a high intensity - 11.000 lumens per watt. It gives a planted aquarium a natural appearance and enhances plant growth.

Thanks a lot.
