Personally i would prefer to use a slightly larger tank of at least 1.5ft but i guess 1ft will be alright. Ten shrimps will be alright for a 1ft tank, but take note that in the long run when the shrimps breed, you might have to remove some to prevent overpopulation. Lastly, for your hang on filter inlet, do cover it with a sponge so that shrimps or shrimplets will not get sucked into the filter.
Thanks for the advise... Where can I get the sponge do they sell it in LFS or use normal sponge?
I would suggest you hold the moss first and go for hardy stem plants.
Mosses normally do better at cooler temperature so unless the tank is kept in a very cool place, temperature would normally be in the just below 30 degrees zone.
Try hornworts or frogbits first. They will help absorb ammonia, nitrate and prevent algae outbreaks.
i letting go a aquazonic 1ft T5HO 2x6W, pm me if you are interested.
Oh well... Okwhat would U suggest I decorate the tank with?

Hey guys is there any LFS or online shops in SG that secialize in shrimps I wanna buy the soil but the one near my place only got gravels![]()
I wouldn't point you to any specific shops, but you can look out for ADA amazonia soil, borneowild soil, benibachi soil, mosura soil and GEX soil.
There are others but I've not tried those so I can't recommend.
Note that ADA will require longer cycling while GEX needs to be changed more often (it's cheaper).
Google for reviews of the above soil to see which one suits your fancy.
You just have to look around for fine sponge that fits over the intake of your Hang on filter. You will have to wash the sponge often though, otherwise it'll choke and kill the flow of water. Alternatively, some LFS sells fine wire mesh inlets that can stop shrimplets without killing flow.
Oh yes one more thing... Do i need to get a pump and airstones for the shrimps?
Any plant to recommend
Currently my shrimp tank consist of
Tank light driftwood white gravel and a hangonback filter
I hope not...
Uncle in the LFS said its for fish tanks![]()
