Hi all, 1 week back I happily bought a pack of Bds and added them into my thriving crs tank. Then, I read in that Bds and crs will cross and give you chocolateh shrimps. Scrambled to Seaview today and bought the acrylic partitions for my 2 feet tank. Dunk the thing in and wow, it fits wonderfully. I've read up on some really major projects on shrimp setups that some bros do up here. WOW.

Since newbie and first time doing partition so my ideas also simple simple ones. .

    1. Where to buy the stainless steel meshes that cover the holes in these acrylic sheets?
    2. What silicon should I use. Went Dama and they say their adhesive solution is only for securing acrylic to acrylic surface.
    3. What should I do with filtration. I have a 2215 and I intend to do 3 partitions. Where should the inlet and rainbar be? I bought 2x "baby" ocean free bio foam sponge filter. Are they sufficient to sustain my other 2 partitions while 1 of the partition will have the 2215 inlet in it? I don't really want to do ugf because I'm love foreground plants and intend to do different foreground for the 3 partitions.

    Advices much appreciated.
Oh and I intend to separate the livestocks as follows. Does it make sense?

Partition 1. Crs A and S and SS grade
    Partition 2. Bds
Partition 3. KK and panda. Haven't buy yet.

I'm really confused with the cross breeding chart,
Can I add sakura, yamato and blue bolt and yellow golden back and snowballs in one of these 3 partitions if my primary concern is to avoid Frankenstein hybrids?

    Cheers.
    Happily shrimping.

    Hi,

Firstly CRS and BDS mixed will not give you chocolate shrimps. They will only cross with one another and give you some higher grade and some lower grade CRS and BDS.

Advise for 2 ft tank, don't partition some much. You will not have enough space if your shrimps start to boom. May partition into 2 X1 ft will do.

For silicon, just use normal aquarium silicon will do. But wait for it to be dry before putting in.

    Just my 5 cents advise.

    Hi,

What I mean is that, when they breed, the shrimplets may be B or C grade CRS or BDS.

It might be higher grade too. Might be S, SS or SSS grade.

Oh. So mixing bds and crs still gives one crs and bds offspring? Just that the red or black may not be that superb? Ok. I may rethink the need to keep them separated.

Thanks ken for advising on the space constraints. I may just go 2 partitions.

If I mix panda, bkk, bds, will this produce undesirable traits in the coloration of the offspring too?

KK x BDS will give you KK gene BDS...

2ft too small to partition into 3 partition you will probably get a very bad circulation. As we are using big tank and sharing the water within the tank it is more advisable to partition into 1ftx1ft meaning if you want 3 partition get a 3ft. If not 2 x 2ft with 4 partition. Have fun.
