Think my Algae war started again. Here's the scenario.
1)Two weeks ago my newly setup tank glass is full of algae and water is green in colour. I reduce the light on for 8 hours and did a daily 20% water change. My water did really turn clear and sunday did a 40% water change.
2)Last week did a 20% water change every 2days and 40% water change on sunday and increase the light on to 9 hours.
3)Sunday 14-March, 40% water change and increase the light on to 10 hours. But water very green on tuesday already.
    CO2 is 30-40ppm confirm (4bps)
I find tat everytime before I get algae war I will get BBA first
I need advice from expert or any one who encounter this problem!
    what is wrong?

You can't battle with algae by just water change and upping CO2. Start to take a look at other issues such as fertilisation and fishload if you are sure your CO2 is now correct.

You have to remove as much of the existing GW algae first otherwise whatever correction you made will not help. You may want to try blacking out.

you are having green water algae problem. you might want to refer to previous threads on green water algae by doing a search. there are many discussion on this.

increasing your photoperiod too soon can bring back your green water algae. you need to be patient. as geoffrey suggested, you can try doing a black out. over the long run, you need to watch your nutrients balance to avoid this problem again.

You may consider introducing an UV steriliser in your system for a period until the green water problem solved.

Is yr tank near to another light source(window?) what's your fertilization regime? a cheaper alternative to solve green water is the black out method.

totally cover the tank for 2-3days should clear the green water problem.

But if you do not know the cause of it, it will prolly return as well..

fill up the tank data, so we can all see what you have and done
