I think since you are using 2211, it's pretty small canister, so just off the canister, remove the inlet and outlet to prevent siphon effect..
Cut the hose and attach the double taps.. Prime the canister then start it.. Settled...

Hello
My eheim 2211 external filter is already in use 24/7.
However I realized too late that I need to have double taps to ease the maintenance.
So I bought the double taps and am seeking advice on how to smoothly make the transition to add double taps?
The way I see it, it will definitely involve lots of towels lining the floor....I want to avoid flooding as much as possible
Anyone who have had the experience , please do share !
Thanks

If it is running smoothly and you have no reason to take the hoses off, you might as well wait for the next maintenance when you have to open the canister to rinse the media out. It is not as if the taps have (major) moving parts and you need to test them. The only thing is to make sure they are the right size. If unsure, take a spare hose and try the fit.
One tip, fit the inlet and outlet with the taps in opposite directions. So on the canister, you have the two parts of one double tap. Fit the appropriate halves on the hose ends. This way, when you do your maintenance (and as long as you don't dismantle every part for cleaning), you do not have to think which hose goes to which pipe of the canister. Get it wrong and the taps don't fit.

Hi Allblacks,
Many thanks for your email. Anyway, I broke the impeller stick while trying to wash the filter. Need to go Qian Hu to get it fixed asap. Will check the price there as well, if ok, will get from there.

hey allblacks,
I am considering whether to get this Eheim Classic 2211 or not. Mine is a 28L (2*14L) tank and I saw on the Eheim website that this model is for 50L tank. I am worried that it might be an overkill for my tank. May I know what is the size of your tank?
I am new to these kind of filteration system.
Please pardon me as I am about to ask a noob question.
Do you know why they are selling double tap as in double amount?
Why not a single tap? When the maintenance need arise, we could simply close the single tap, pull out the tube from the canister and do the necessary cleaning. How would a double tap work differently from this?
Thank you in advance.
from 14L to 8L tank.

Double taps is a set of 2 shut off taps/valve for a single pipe.
I'm only using 1 of 2 sets of double tap.

Hi.. just 2cents
Imo, sometimes i want to bring the whole canister out to bathroom. Leaving all the hose and piping and tank attached.
What i do is close both tap and unplug and be on my way. No mess. And most of the time after reconnect also no priming needed.

Hi 14litre
I am using the eheim 2211 on a regular 2feet ..total actual water volume being 32litres approximately, it's a 45 litres tank.
I have done up the rain bar ...and from what I observed on whether the filter is suitable or not is ...to me as long as the community of inhabitants don't look like they are struggling against water currents, it's ok.
Not sure if this is the right way to assess for filter suitability though.
I haven't done up the double taps yet, will update once I have collected enough research and feel comfortable in the entire process first.
