Those rock are ohko rocks aka dragon rock.
It will release microbubbles in long term , even many people says its ok wont affect water parameter.

After searching around for info about ohko rocks, decided to keep it and closely monitor water parameter... Thanks for the info bro cheetf and heman...
Just came back from c328 and polyart looking for Shirakura shrimp food but can't find it, bought small packet of hikari shrimp food at the end... The shrimps are quite like it, or they are too starving to reject the food after 3days fasting
By the way, anybody know where to find Shirakura shrimp food? Thanks

Nature Aquarium should have Shirakura Shrimp Food. Maybe you would want to give them a call before going down.

Re: Setting up my first shrimp tank - advice needed

    Thanks bai...

This morning i found 2 empty shells which i hope from molting.... or could it be from died shrimp???? i never counted how many shrimps in the tank...

The empty shells are separated in half, upper body and lower body... I imagined scenario where shrimp died and the carcass was eaten by fellow sakura shrimps/yamato shrimp/ruby tetras/snail/otto leaving only the empty shell... is it possible?

Another issue I have is when i about to top up the tank water with 'Life' distilled water, i found out that the distilled water has pH of 5... is it possible?
I still added in about 10% distilled water to the tank and this morning the tank water pH slightly dropped... i read around the forum only to find people reporting the 'Life' distilled water has pH of 7... ???

it is likely to be the molt of the shrimps..and usually ph of distilled water range from high 5s to low 6..
