One of my Satellite boxes containing some fry was overgrown with BGA and some other weird algae, so I moved the fry away to another container. I took off the aeration and let it sit like that for weeks because I was too lazy.

The past week I was looking at the container then I realised that it was full of seed shrimp! I don't know how they got there or where they came from but the little critters pretty much destroyed the BGA that had carpeted one side of the container. Now all that is left is just a few broken patches. For an animal so disliked by many shrimp keepers, they are great to have around, at least to me.

There's a layer of peat at the bottom that I had left there because it used to contain some killie eggs that I was hatching out. In any case, the peat is now full of some tubifex worms that had survived and multiplied. The container also has some weird looking nematode worms, though they don't bother me much.

Bro, I agree with you. Simple is the best.

I tried CRS (they died), Sakaru (some died) and my guppies (they are like rabbits in the water, there is no stopping them).

There are guys who like Fairy Shrimps on youtube. Check them out too

Yeah I saw the videos. These tiny guys are living in a Satellite L with no flow of water. Somehow they are surviving.

Poor seed shrimp. Squashed instead of being fish food
