Google shows loads of hobbyist selling at a very very reasonable price. (years ago) I remember searching till I dug our own fellow moderators purchasing a bigger model at a very very good price. Haha.

Anyway, after much deliberation and searching google to find out whether 20 or 40 would be ideal, I've decided to go with 40. Price for new is about $200.00 That can get me 11 Gex M Size Tanks!! =( Well, in the name of hobby, sacrifise got to be made... I guess. Sounds pretty similiar with my road bike (not the one with motors) and "that" engagement ring. Hmm..

You know I hear this a lot when someone ask where to get PVC pipes and the usual response is any hardware shop should have. Sadly, its not the case for hardware shops this days. They have elbows, tee joints, plumbing etc but strangely no pipe. I had to ask. As best I could to speak with the right Mandarin intonation with my Malay accent in tow I went to the Chinese man..."Uncle, ne ge PVC pipe ni yo mah?" Sign language ensues. In responds, an old auntie who was sitting by the side fanning herself responded "Xiao Di mei you" No pvc, at least I know I still am young.

Oh well, I was trying to proof a point actually. Hardware stores near you don't usually sell PVC pipes. Regardless if you happen to see them selling the PVC glue, the joints, the tap etc. Anyway, I've been lucky to be living near to Defu. All this while, both personally and for my company we get our supplies from this shops in Defu. If you're a guy, stepping into such shop is like a new world. You become a kid. Millions of things goes into your head..."Eh I can use that to DIY that...eh I can use that to support that...eh I should get this..." Probably it's just me. So for those staying around Hougang/Sengkang, Defu is your best bet. Look for Tat Lee Liong.

Back to the setup, I did a trial using PVC pipe I have left over. Drill hole, place teflon tape on the one way valve thread and insert. Not a tight fit, snug but not tight enough. Use silicon and waited. Went to shower along with the tube. And whatever you might think I did, the answer is no.

So I place an end cap. Took a hose, turn on the tap; my eyes sparkle watching the water coming out from the three valve I used for the trial. Then my sister, "Hurry up will you!!" Sigh, why can't anyone leave a man alone in the toilet to his DIY.

Well, I will update more this week. the only thing I am unsure of is the "adaptor" Hiblow to adaptor to PVC. LFS has them?
A 13mm PVC elbow should fit the hiblow's outlet...

A 16-to-13mm 'reducer' works both ways, for both pipe diameters, but nobody refer to these as 'enlarger'.

You REALLY don't want to know what I'm thinking!!!

...but... why are you using water to test for leaks in air manifold? Those valves are only chrome-plated, not stainless steel and not plastic.

    Re: Rack With HMF Filtration

@ Ron, oh alvin said enlarger, (reducer okay fine that's what I come to know) but since he says enlarger and I like the sound of things being enlarge I stick to it. 13 to 16 ain't much enlarging going on there. But alvin sure have a large one. The HiBlow pump is 120!! Bah! I should have gone and bought the reducer when I was visiting my main company today.

Oh, I wasn't checking for leaks. I wanted to see if the valves were working and wanted to see water coming out from those tiny holes. You cannot imagine other trials I did on a smaller scale. I ain't gonna go there. Someone laughed at my skill in putting the silicon too. **Grumbles.

Well, some laughs on Monday ain't bad. =)

Will update thread on the setup this week. Stay tuned and please by all means comment.

    Re: Rack With HMF Filtration

    Latest update.

I've purchased the HiBlow 40. Apparently, I was told older make HiBlow were produced in Japan itself. Newer ones made in Philippines. Anyway, I'm happy I was prepared. Before hand, I purchased a short 13mm PVC pipe and reducer. True enough when I got the HiBlow, the L shaped rubber adaptor was only able to fit the 13mm.

So it was HiBlow -> L Shaped Rubber Adaptor -> 13mm PVC Pipe -> Reducer -> 16mm PVC Pipe.

I did a a dry run by installing all the tubes and joints etc. And all outlet is working! Tonight, will install it proper and insert the airline tubing. As, its difficult to upload the pictures, I've taken; if you need me to update the steps I took, I try my best. It'll just be a copy and paste from my blog. Will check for leaks later. Playing with liquid bodywash can be a fun thing.

Special thanks to all who have assisted, guiding and made me laugh along the way.

Tsk tsk tsk... first the tube, now slippery body wash. I dread what you'll come up with next!! HAHAHA!!!

Ok, now that I've gotten that off my chest...

I've gone through your blog entry and reference to this image...

The bleeding valve (in red) used is probably slip joints (means non-threaded, supposed to glue) and instead of using end-caps at upper Line 1 & 2, replace them with ball valves as well. That way, expanding your air manifold to cater to future racks is simply a matter of adding more pipes (and repeating what you've done so far).

Alternatively, instead of using the more expensive ball valves, thread one-way metal air valves into all 3 end-caps as variable bleed points or for additional outlets using multiple-way gang valves.

Your Hiblow should serve you for many moons and it loves to be pushed. Nothing kills it's diaphragm faster than prolonged back pressure.

    Re: Rack With HMF Filtration

    Hi Ron,

Sorry for the late reply. Been busy with closing.

Unfortunately, all end caps have been glued. I am definitely considering your feedback on adding a ball valve. The idea is to have these number of tanks...
    Level 4 (Top): 6 Gex S Tanks
    Level 3: 5 Gex M Tanks
    Level 2: 5 Gex M Tanks
    Level 1: 5 Gex M Tanks

I might reconsider redoing the whole thing as a circular structure instead or if there's any other ideas definitely welcome. I can remain as what it is right now and use my 3x BigBoy 8000 for future 6 Gex S tanks. I'm currently using 12/15 outlets. The 7 Gex M Tank; it's output is pretty strong actually. My room now sound like an LFS. I'm cool and don't mind it at all. Sleep like a baby but I don't think my other partner will appreciate it. I have to place the Gex tank cover to prevent water from splashing on the floor. The remainder 3 outlets, I placed an airline tube with an airstone to stop the whistling and to release the excess pleasure.

Anyway, I hope the mods don't mind me linking the whole setup via my blog (do let me know I shouldn't and I'll remove it immediately) http://hisstoryimmortalised.blogspot...on-system.html

It's pretty long and I'm pretty noob with attaching pictures here. I'll gladly bring it over here if someone help me with the pics though.

Do comment, feedback, criticize etc. Would love to hear any to improve it.

    Cheers
