    Hello,

My liquid fert is finishing soon and I plan to try Dr Mallick's range of products.

I plan to dose the following products: Lush-Gro Aqua, Lush-Gro Micros, PO4 and K2SO4.

    Any comments on this routine?

I was reading a thread on Lush-Gro Micros and it said that the recommended dosage for Micros is 1 drop per 120L?

    Hi Bro,

I have spoken to Dr Mallick ( last week), I was telling him 1 drop is too little. My tank is 200L, he suggested 10 drops for 100L, I am currently dosing 10 drops. Effect is very good.

    Cheers

    Hello fleekk,

I suppose you were at the soft launch last week? I was there too!

Are you dosing Lush-Gro Aqua and Micros?

I am using both Aqua & Micro.

I was at the launch but I called Dr Mallick later to feedback to him about the dosage was too little.

Re: Need some feedback on fertilizers

Basically you still need the full array of NPK plus traces to keep your plants in top shape. I haven't used LG Micros before, but use LG Aqua (which is basically some traces, a fair bit of iron and a little N) to supplement one of my tanks. Otherwise, I use KNO3, K2SO4 and KH2PO4 for macros and TMG for micros. But i think LG Aqua is ok as a substitute for TMG for micros (the extra NO3 shouldn't hurt). I also use a little Seachem Equilibrium for the Ca/Mg balance.

For the NPK, use the Chuck Gadd calculator on this forum to calculate dosage.

I think the fertiliser subforum has more info on this. Do have a look through and see if any points already there are unclear.

Re: Need some feedback on fertilizers

Got some info off the net, here is what LG-Aqua and LG-Micros contain.

    LG-Aqua
    N 7.179 g/l
    K 51.711 g/l
    S 16.667 g/l
    Mg 2.942 g/l
    Fe as EDTA 1.683 g/l
    Mn 0.612 g/l
    B 0.314 g/l
    Zn 0.092 g/l
    Cu 0.025 g/l
    Mo 0.016 g/l
    Other minerals traces
    Vitamins traces

    LG-Micros
Fe as EDTA chelate 21,253 mg/l
    Mn 5,684 mg/l
    B 483 mg/l
    Zn 617 mg/l
    Cu 267 mg/l
    Mo 471 mg/

Seems to me that LG-Aqua already has what LG-Micros has?[/b]

LGA has all that LGM has. So it depends on what your plants require. LGM is much much more concentrated than LGA in the Fe content.

If you think you want to have a general purpose fert, then just get LGA. If you want to play with separate dosings of N,P,K,Ca,Mg then get LGM.

    Hi Everyone,

Is it true to say that LGM emphasise on Fe dosage & small content of the micros for weekly dosage?

Whereas LGA is more for the overall fertilisation require at least once a month?

I guess both is equally important.

Actually I am using them together for some months already. Trying to finish the bottle of LGA faster.

As long as you know what amounts of nutrients are going into your tank, there's no need to worry.

See these threads for more discussion on LGA, LGM. There's also a Excel dosing calculator.:

    Dearest Madam B,

Can I suggest this? How about getting just LGM, KNO3 and KH2PO4? I went without K2SO4 for quite a while and it is fine. Alternatively, LGA and KH2PO4 will do just as well.

Like Juggler, I don't encounter problem dosing LGA and LGM together.

You can skip the K2SO4 if you dose enough of KNO3 as there is already excess K in the KNO3.

    Need some feedback on fertilizers

Hi all, I am still blur where to get Dr Mallick's stuff. Friend told me i can get it from Eco-Culture.. Went there saw a range of products on the shelves.

When i read this thread, i notice the nutrients you all mentioned are not tally with the one I saw. I can't remember the exact name of the manufacturers on the bottles but they are contained in no-frill bottles and prices are quite reasonable.. Am i on the right track?

The nutients i saw, which i am now checking with guys whether you use them, are as follows:

    -Magnesium Sulphate
    -Potassium Sulphate
    -Potassium Nitrate
    -Potassium Dihydrogen Phosphate
    -Rexolin E13
    -Calcium Nitrate
    -Fe & Trace

Re: Need some feedback on fertilizers

K stands for potassium, SO4 for sulphae, NO3 for nitrate, PO4 for phosphate, Mg for magnesium.
